Funny how you get someone to relax and they drop into their favourite mannerisms. If I’m taking photos of couples I try to get them interacting. Whenever I can I try to get the lady to come over her man’s shoulder. Really it’s just something they have often done without even realising it. He’ll be sitting in a chair reading and she’ll come and touch him on the shoulder and give him a peck on the cheek. A moment of intimacy as the day goes by. So I try to reproduce that in what is often a public setting.
In the case below it works well. They relaxed together. In the meantime, another young lady took a phone call from a friend. She was right into it when we finished the couple. So I just whipped up the camera and fired away. She was great about it - as the facial expressions show.

Ok I know. It’s all been about the ladies with this shoot. Well the young guys will get some action over the next couple of days.

All too often we take photos of everything around us but we neglect the people in our own family. And when we finally get around to it, we are always amazed at how much the youngest have changed. Truly we live in a fast paced era where the weeks and months flash by our eyes.
Few days ago the ‘expectant’ couple pictured several weeks ago have finally welcomed a new bub into the world. He’s a healthy baby boy and mum’s doing well!. Hope to take a few photos tomorrow. I just know they will be one set of amazing parents.
Had a fabulous family shoot week ago. I loved hearing mum and dad’s reaction to the pics - especially of the kids. Well you are going to love these. A couple of samples of what’s to come - mum and daughter - with a few more real soon.

This little angel has the sweetest singing voice for such a young lady. And a fabulous attitude too.

An aspect of my job that I love is we get to meet all sorts of people from all sorts of places - Copenhagen, Singapore, USA, Ireland,… you name it. It’s called the OS FACTOR! That’s one great positive about a global corporation. These last couple of weeks we’ve had a couple more. John from Boston and Chong from New Jersey. So before they left the obligatory staff pics had to be taken. You never know their families might even like them too.
Second pic was pushed strongly down the contrasty tone line with some presets I picked up for my Lightroom program - in fact all these pics are now being processed done almost entirely in Adobe Lightroom. Now that’s a program that is really worth getting - especially if you use the raw facilities of digital cameras. I haven’t had that one long but given another month I reckon my workflow will really be humming. Results look great.
Anyway back to second pic. Once I got it into photoshop I put it through some watercolour. Well it came out a little bit different than I had planned. Nonetheless I still like it. Love the way the brick background ended up too.

The regulars will recognise some of this lot from about 6 months ago. Mum selected her favs …. one of which is also mine - and the second pic is to be a big heavily grained metallic print - heavily grained in the style of the old BW films pushed to the limit. It’s going to be amazing.
That’s what I love about digital. We can not only enjoy the benefits of the “instant coffee” capacity of digital but also we get to create very different results depending entirely upon our creative bent at the time. Great eh!!!

Have been slow getting up some more of these. As you can see from earlier posts I had this late afternoon stroll into a local park with a very “expectant” young man, his fabulously “almost ready” young wife, and two extremely undersized doggies (though they did say that that’s the way of that breed). These little boys looked quite well fed but just don’t walk very fast despite their legs going furiously.
Nonetheless, we took a heap of pics and a few of my favourites are here for them to see - and tell long distant family/friends to have a look. Looking forward to taking some pics of the new mum with her brand new bub.

A baby is soon to make his/her entrance into this wonderful world. Of course once bub lets those lungs loose it will be like a trumpet announcing that two cute doggies are about to have their habits retrained a tad. No longer will they hold centre stage. But that’s the way of life when a child is born. Babies are absolutely dependent and require quite a bit of attention. It’s all good.
But just for now a pic of Karen with her current babies giving a bit of doggie love to her!!!

Took some pics of Karen,… she’s been waiting … and growing … for 9 1/2 months. This is one of my favourites.
Oh yes and the boys were there too. Seth [the daddy in waiting] gets into some - maybe tomorrow I will put one up with him alongside his beautiful wife. And the twins - Karen’s puppy dogs - they were there just as fast as their little legs would let them
But you will have to wait til later in the week for some of them. Today it’s just Karen; who deserves centre of attention.
