Who is “Usertools”?
My blogs been up and going for a little over 12 months now and I get a lot of hits from one group every time I put up a new post. Far too many pages being read for just one person. Just curious that’s all. The isp for the “group” seems to be from Fremantle. So if you want to satisfy my curiosity, please drop me a long in the comments or email me at akessonphoto@westnet.net.au.

Didn’t quite finish the other 4 to that series. But this morning I had a doodle with a couple of other pics that I hadn’t got to process yet. Wanted to give the rough stone wall a real edgy look and that needed to move into tones of red/brown. Then I next took a setting that looks great in colour but I wanted to square it up and get an old style BW with lots of grain. Finally I just had to put one into a blue tone. So here’s the end result. Really helped that Ad’nAng were enjoying the photos - or was it that they were enjoying being together whatever was happening!!!

p.s…. if you haven’t check the music push on the arrow for the Camille Miller song I ‘What are you waiting for’ - it’s good.

Well that was the theory. Didn’t quite work out that way though. Think they knew what was coming next
These three are part of a series of 7 photos (more like 25 but 7 to tell the story) going from that ye olde sombre against yonder wall look to a more contemporary take on a verrrry friendly couple. They were having heaps of fun with their session. If I get a chance I will put up the other 4 in the next day or so.

Well I know I have thrown up a few too many of this wedding - and I promise I SHALL MOVE ON…. but I have to show this page. I love it. Then again I created it so I suppose I should have some affinity with it.
It’s a page I designed very intentionally for the groom. To me (as a guy) it speaks volumes about love and abandonment of a woman to her man - she’s giving herself body and soul and is doing it with absolute delight.
Hmmm. … now that’s an idea.
A song is needed.
How about the Queen of Soul.
Listen to the music as you gaze over the photos.
Feel free to comment back.

Just finished the wedding album. It tells a great story of backgrounds, relationships and love. This was one of the pages (it’s a square album) that reflects a boy who became a man and along the way had a great relationship with his doggie during his teenage years. Getting a bit long in the tooth now but such a fabulous good natured animal - the one with the fur coat on that is. Well I like it anyway!

Came across a new widget for the blog - Sonific Songspot. Looks a likely candidate to put some different music up.
So we’ll try to keep up with some different music that you can activate and listen to while looking at the pics.
Check it out - first song is What Are You Waiting For by Camille Miller.
So. What ARE you waiting for - press play and then read down and view the photos.

Been busy day. Listened to the footy on the internet and my favourite team (West Coast Eagles) was expected to win but my second favourite (Brisbane Lions) did them like a dinner. Just as well I was busy - so to overcome a momentary disappointment (the Eagles will still win the Premiership and repeat last years victory) here’s a small sample of what I’ve done.
Some more staff shots from the day job & then the last pic is one of todays pages created for a wedding album. This album is proving to be tough because there are so many great pics to put into a limited number of pages. It’s a challenge but I might finish tomorrow!
Make a comment and tell me what you think.

We work really hard during the week but 4pm Friday afternoon signals time for a bit of relational celebrations. The guys and gals from the US think this is a really really good thing to do

Started taking some staff photos for one of the managers. Did one up today- took this one in a high key from a low angle. Reflects how I see Merryn. She keeps her eye on the goal,… positive, looking forward, totally committed to the cause. When it comes to her work, she’s a leader who lives by example and never expects less than achievement of the task at hand. Notwithstanding the above, she’s not a hard as nails person. That’s what I’ve tried to portray.

So there we were, heading back to the car and home. Great coffee been consumed (at Monzo’s in Oxford Street), photo’s of wife taken (much to the amusement of the young couple having breakfast at 11am), and we walked past Cafe Villa (another fabulous coffee house in Leederville) only to be greeted by another couple enjoying Saturday morning relaxation. Soooo many ladies say they don’t often see a good photo of themselves - and such comments are far tooooo much temptation for me not to whip out the camera and take a pic. Doesn’t really take much of a photo does she - in fact she didn’t take the pic …. I did! But as for a photographic subject she’s awesome. Damn! Should have taken more then and there with her man in toe :-) Next time.

About 3 weeks ago went on an all day Nikon Seminar - where we got to find out all about the latest tech on Nikon gear in the morning and then spent 4 plus hours playing with stuff that we haven’t had a chance to do before. Saul Frank from Camera Electronic in Stirling Street East Perth reckoned it would be very helpful. (now he’s a bright cookie when it comes to camera gear. Learnt it from his dad and is now heading up the main sales arena. Want a great deal in cameras - go see him
)
Well I got info on the wireless stuff & sending files directly from camera to laptop. But the buzz was to play with stuff I want to get - like Nikon VR 70-200mm F2.8 zoom. Thought it would be better - a bit faster focusing than my Sigma. But. Boy oh boy it is soooooooooo much faster and heaps sharper and far better balanced. But then it should be at twice the price. Later in the year maybe. Lots of others too. When I got into the Nikon 200mm f2 Vr- well I was really envious. This is a tad heavy but it’s an amazing lens. Super super sharp and really fast focussing. If someone donates around $6000 I can get one!
First shot from that seminar is of Saul and his wonderul wife Farrah. She was terrific. This was one of my shots with the 200mm F2.

Second one is not an ad for Nikon but it is shot with the 70-200 VR f2.8 zoom. Bright sunshine as only Perth can give us. Caught Jane by surprise here. She’s a media and marketing consultant with some specialties of strategic planning, publicity, design and writing. She kept the humour high and made sure the rest of us didn’t get too serious.

All in all it was worth the money. Food was great. Learnt heaps. And am convinced I must get one of those 200mm lens…. one day!
