Today we had the wonderful privilege of catching up with Pam and Robin. They’re travelling around some of the great surfing spots in West Australia currently.
Heather and Pam go back some 30 plus years to the sleepy hollow of Geelong. That’s quite some time. So we all had lunch at a favourite Dome Cafe in Hillarys Boat Harbour and I took some photos of Pam and Robin for good measure. Noted some fierce ownership from Pam as she hung onto her man in one. But the favourite is this one – it reflects clearly their personalities.

It would be true to say that most parents, when gently holding their fragile newborn delicately in their hands, they look at their kiddlie-winks in those early days with awe and wonder;…… and then, what seems like next week, sometimes, they suddenly they wonder what happened in between. Times like that they need the grandparents’ perspective on what’s taken place.
This young lass was just a bub such a short time ago. You can guess at what mum & dad are thinking!

Well yes there are lots of similarities here. But no, it’s not the same young lady with two different guys (they in fact are brothers-in-law). We had a great time taking all these. It’s been far too long and two many children between photos of the couples on their own. And Kings Park (which overlooks the city of Perth) was just the place early in the morning for these.

Funny thing is, even though they worry about all sorts of ‘defects’ that detract from their demeanour, it’s the ladies who are generally much more at ease draping themselves over their man than the guy. Go figure!

Don’t young children have an absolute amazing capacity to captivate. Take a shot like this and their mums will instantly recognise when that expression repeats itself – bringing with that recognition waves of memories. Isn’t that why we take photographs.

Sometimes, when our children are young, life can revolve so much around them that romance goes to messagebank (or messages on hold!!!). It’s my opinion, at such times, that opportunities ought be sought for photos of love and affection; to remind us of that very connection which led to the creation of those children.

Thought this pic says a lot about how a little 6 year old loves to interact with Dad.

Well today Seth needed some promo shots urgently. If you’ve been around my blog for a while you will have seen some of the great shots I’ve taken of him in action – he is a fabulous leader and pastor of our burgeoning youth ministries. Speaks with passion and a wonderful sense of humour. So I needed to test out a new idea of a portable background and he needed some shots – viola!!!
So I’ve put up two pics to show you just how it comes up. And this was shot with no artifical light – but I did use a couple of reflectors. What do you think about it?

Cropped this one tighter but the background still comes in great I reckon.
