Sometimes I am looking for the perfect conditions to take photographs. Not always possible it it!. Now wind and portrait photography can be looked at as incompatible partners,… bit like hot sunny days with bright sunlight and photographing brides. Not always conducive to great results. A bit of wind blew up at this wedding that I am finishing off in the proofing stage. But I decided some time ago that wind was always going to be seen as an asset. So when it came up this time we were onto it - and look at the result: both this pic and yesterdays. I couldn’t have staged it if I tried. Perfect conditions - just love it.

When you have finally married your man after a looooooooooooooooonnnnng journey to the church you have every reason to be happy. Written all over her face. She is celebrating! Mind you I don’t see the groom complaining. I hope they have many more moments over the years ahead to experience such emotive joy. Fabulous couple.

I’ve nearly finished preparing the files for the proof book of my last wedding. Came across this fabulous pic - didn’t even remember taking it at first. Was moving from one side of the chapel to the other and spotted this beautiful babe in blue sound asleep despite all the activity and singing from the wedding ceremony. Hopefully the B&G will know who the parents are. It will make a great little speciality or detail shot in the album.

Last year took some family photos of Steve and Kath. Tonight did up this one for Church the web site - the current one that got up there was a “proof” file! They’re a fabulous couple. Steve heads up our Creative Edge team - looking after worship and music (he’s a talented muso with big dreams - see this link for the record label he started). Kath is super skilled in other areas such as teaching,… as well as being a wonderful mum. Check out the site. Photo below was hit with a bit of Cross Processing to give it a bigger push.

This was promised a day ago but took a little longer to get it posted. … So why such a title? Well I took about 50 pics of Em in around 5 minutes. At first she fell into the “this is how photographs should look - bit of a smile, looking sweet. But then she relaxed and became who she really is and had some fun in front of a brick wall. Cracked us all up. She’s been watching the super stars I reckon. Results are fabulous. She’s happy, Mum’s pleased. We had fun. But that’s why we take photo’s isn’t it?

You may have seen the pics of Max & Mya back in September - couple of 16 week old German Shepherd pups. Well was finishing off some of them tonight and decided a bit of a push and a vintage look was the go. Max is so poised it just suits. Tomorrow I will have up some great photos of a brief shoot with Em. She’s a really character and it really shows in the results. Check it out again in 12 hours or so. For now here’s Max.

There’s something about doing things together. Processing photos today two jumped out. One was of newly weds having their first dance together. They’d been working on this beforehand, and come the night they only had eyes for each other. They were already doing marriage together. Now the other was of three young siblings. Now living in a family is not always fun and games. But when they are of one mind and enjoying each other’s company blood really is thicker than water. These three were having fun together. They were enjoying it. Really fabulous when it all comes together.

This week we hosted the 2006 GLS that and Bill Hybels created to develop leaders in churches. Great gathering in Perth. One of the key influencers in for Willow in Perth are Mark & Karen Wilson. Been senior pastors at Whitfords Church for years. Great people. Friends of mine. So here’s a pic of them from yesterday and a couple more from the summit.

Some of the music team. The drummer seemed really young but certainly beat those drums fabulously.

And there were some very helpful volunteers - one pic to represent them,…. a contemporary version of the the milk maid! They did such a tremendous job. The Summit would have been miserable without them.

Went to the annual Royal Show today. It’s been running for over 100 years! Haven’t been since I was 16. It’s changed a lot. Still mobs of ways to spend your money though - especially in sideshow alley and all the games and rides. But I was there to take some photos of wonderful family of all boys. These young guys were sooooo responsive. And they just had fun fun fun all day. Got some great ones despite the very strong contrasty day. A random few that caught my attention as I sorted through them.
Coming in with some of the massive crowd

Dad giving some creative driving lessons

Boys having fun on a huge bouncy castle

Nothing was cheap but we did come across one super special.

And finally the family shot I was looking for - something that would remind them of their day with all the colour and fun.

Quick call this afternoon from a young lady who’s wedding I was at nearly two years ago - wanted a photo suitable for a work annual publication. Love these people who feel totally at ease in front of a camera. This is what we chose - though the published one will be in colour.
