The Africans

Yesterday we were privileged to have a contingent of folk from Africa; Pastor Lionel Peterson is Worship Pastor of Rhema Church in South Africa - a huge church. And Dr Bernard Adams is a fabulous communicator from Africa. They brought a different dimension to our Sunday morning meetings.

and Lionel Peterson tried to make a miracle happen - he’s so fluid on his feet but it is just not possible to teach a predominently white middle class group how to dance like an African - they Just don’t have rhythm.

Ignition Youth Leadership College

We have a fantastic college for young people to get skills and practice in developing their leadership aspirations. Called IGNITION. It takes committed & enthusiastic young folk and gives them wonderful opportunities to rapidly become our next generation of leaders - both in the local church and the wider community. It’s not easy. They have some learning and maturing to do. Sometimes tears flow. But they change and grow. Some really great leaders are now beginning to forge their place in community. Picture below is of one this years crop of students. She’s great. Teachable. And of course still loves the teddy bears. And so she should. Such fun keeps their feet firmly grounded in reality.

I love taking photos of little ones. When my kids were young I kept Kodak and Fuji in profit mode. But it’s great looking at the albums. Digital is sooooo much better for creativity and presentation. This little guy is just great. He knows where my lolly jar is but he is so polite when he wants one. And he always has a smile and carries his favourite toy-of-the-day. And he already has an entourage of doting young ladies who think he is just fabulous!!! Taking some pics of him was a spur of the moment thing with a big window for light and a plain wall as a background.  He is such a little pro at modelling.
